Pokemon GO has announced Winter Holiday Part 2, an event that will see the debuts of Shiny Vanillite, as well as Psyduck and Golduck in festive outfits. The end of the year is only a few weeks away, but Pokemon GO continues to add new content for players.
This week, Pokemon GO announced Winter Holiday Part 1, an event that starts next week. Players will see a series of winter-themed Pokemon like Alolan Sandshrew, Spheal, and Cryogonal. But the main new content is the debut of Cetoddle and Cetitan in Pokemon GO. The festive atmosphere of Pokemon GO continues, as Niantic has confirmed the second part of the event, one of the last for 2023.
Pokemon GO Announces Big Storage Change
Pokemon GO announces a major change for Pokemon and items storage for players to enjoy the upcoming events, but it has a catch.
Pokemon GO Winter Holiday Part 2 will add a winter costume version of Psyduck and Golduck, with Shiny Vanillite appearing for the first time. The event starts on December 25 at 10 am and ends on December 31 at 8 pm local time. The wild encounters will be Alolan Vulpix, Seel, Swinub, Snorunt, Spheal, Galarian Darumaka, Vanillite, Cryogonal, Cetoddle, Sneasel, Piloswine, and Amaura. Trainers will also find Christmas versions of Eevee, Delibird, Cubchoo, Pikachu, and Psyduck in the wild. The event confirmed Pikachu and Cubchoo in holiday outfits, Alolan Vulpix, Crabrawler, Cetoddle, and Dewgong in one-star raids. Meanwhile, Pokemon GO three-star raids will feature Lapras, Delibird, and Glaceon wearing holiday outfits.
Pokemon GO Winter Holiday Part 2
- When: Monday, December 25 at 10 am, until Sunday, December 31 at 8 pm
- New Pokemon: Shiny Vanillite, costumed Psyduck and Golduck
During Winter Holiday Part 2, players can hatch festive versions of Psyduck and Eeevee, Smoochum, Galarian Darumaka, and Amaura from 2km eggs. By completing Pokemon GO Field Research tasks, players will get the chance to encounter Alolan Vulpix, Shellder, Jynx, Lapras, Snover, Vanillite, Crabrawler, as well as Psyduck, Stantler, Glaceon, Spheal, and Pikachu customized for Christmas. Another reward for completing the Field Research tasks will be Mega Energy for Mega Abomasnow and Mega Glalie. During Winter Holiday Part 2, trainers will earn double XP and Stardust for opening gifts, Timed Research for choosing double XP or Stardust for catching Pokemon, new stickers, avatar items, and Partner Research for Amazon subscribers. Like Winter Holiday Part 1, Part 2 has two paid tickets with Premium Battle Passes, encounters with winter-themed Pokemon, and 2x Candy as rewards.
Pokemon GO is preparing to end a year that has been both good and frustrating for players. One example is that some players recently criticized the increase in paid tickets in Pokemon GO. There was also the nerf on remote raids, a topic still hotly debated. Meanwhile, Pokemon GO added Paldean Pokemon, many Legendary critters, and several shiny forms. Despite the issues and controversies, Pokemon GO keeps an active player base, often adding content to keep the community engaged.
