A talented Pokemon fan has created several lovely terrariums using figures of the series’ iconic characters and actual shells of the Nintendo Game Boy Advance. The works, some of which were commissioned, have been shared online, where they were greeted by netizens with praise and adoration.
Terrariums can be best described as miniature gardens that are usually placed inside sealed containers. As these are often kept as ornamental items, it’s not unusual for owners to get a bit creative and turn their terrariums into objects that more resemble pieces of art. There’s also nothing stopping anyone from simply buying complete sets from craftspeople, many of whom offer works that are based on the Pokemon series.
Pokemon Fan Designs New Version of Paradox Entei
Days before The Indigo Disk DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet arrives, a Pokemon fan remakes their concept of what Paradox Entei could look like.
One artist who goes by the Reddit username Accomplished-Top4709 has been creating handmade Pokemon-themed terrariums called Pokegardens and sharing them on the online platform. In their latest post on the Pokemon subreddit submitted Monday, Accomplished-Top4709 showed off eight of their latest creations. These featured figures of Ditto, Gengar, Jigglypuff, Paldean Wooper, Psyduck, Quagsire, Slowpoke, and Snorlax each standing on custom terrariums built on modified replacement shells for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance. Accomplished-Top4709 also made a terrarium with Gible in the past as a $115 commission.
Understandably, community members praised the cozy-looking pieces, calling them beautiful and fantastic. Another Pokemon fan on Reddit, PokeWelder-Zach, received similar compliments when they shared their Pokemon sculptures made out of bike chains earlier this month. Unlike Accomplished-Top4709 who did commissions, it seemed like PokeWelder-Zach made the pieces just as a hobby.
Pokemon fans have long been trying to express their love for the series by producing truly incredible art pieces. One talented fan from France, entroisdimensions, has been making large 3D printed Pokemon Game Boy cartridges that feature popular characters like Pikachu and sharing them over at Instagram. The digital creator has been able to recreate the cartridges of Pokemon Blue, Pokemon Red, Pokemon Green, Pokemon Silver, and Pokemon Yellow. Entroisdimensions is currently trying to 3D print the franchise’s original 151 Pokemon, according to their Instagram bio.
In addition to physical art pieces, Pokemon fans have also produced countless illustrations based on the series. Another Reddit user, IanFelinne, for instance, created impressive pixel art of the respective legendary beasts of the Kalos region from Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, Xerneas and Yveltal. The skill and dedication artists like Accomplished-Top4709, PokeWelder-Zach, entroisdimensions, and IanFelinne have displayed through their pieces are testaments of their love for the partially-Nintendo-owned Pokemon brand.
