An embargo document for the upcoming Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 Super series has leaked online, revealing several potential release dates for the new graphics cards. As prior leaks suggested, Nvidia will seemingly release three new RTX 40 Super cards shortly after hosting a presentation at the CES 2024 event.
Nvidia is one of the leading graphics card producers in the world, and its latest generation RTX 40 series has a slew of enticing features for PC gamers, such as hardware accelerated ray tracing, DLSS 3.5, and Nvidia Reflex. Despite the lingering concerns involving the RTX 4090’s 12VHPWR connector, Nvidia’s mid-range RTX 4070 and 4080 cards consume less overall board power, which leaves some room for potential performance uplifts. Rumors throughout 2023 suggest that Nvidia is not done yet with the RTX 40 series, as potential Super variants are seemingly on the way with more performance at a similar price point compared to their non-Super counterparts. Leaks have also pointed toward a reveal at CES 2023, with the most recent leak revealing specific dates for the new Super cards.
Nvidia May Start Production in Vietnam
Nvidia plans to create a manufacturing hub in Vietnam and turn the Southeast Asian country into a ‘second home’ for the chip giant.
In a leaked embargo document acquired by Videocardz, several release dates for the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Super, 4070 Ti Super, and 4080 Super graphics cards were revealed. Firstly, the graphics cards are listed with an expected reveal date of January 8, 2024, at 9:00 AM PT during Nvidia’s Special Address at CES 2024. The unboxing embargo for the RTX 4070 Super lifts that same day at 2:00 PM PT, and the 4070 Super’s review embargo lifts one week later on January 16 at 6:00 AM PT. If the leak is true, the RTX 4070 Super will launch first on January 17 at 6:00 AM PT, followed by the RTX 4070 Ti Super and RTX 4080 Super on January 24 and January 31 respectively. MSRP and AIB pricing for the new cards have not been revealed, however.

Rumored specifications for the RTX 4070 Super and 4070 Ti Super cards suggest a 14-15% average boost in performance over the non-Super RTX 4070 and 4070 Ti. Moreover, the RTX 4080 Super will be 3-5% faster compared to the original RTX 4080. The new Super graphics cards will retain the same G6X video memory from their original counterparts, with the exception being the 16GB RTX 4070 Ti Super.
Prices for Nvidia’s RTX 4070 cards are expected to drop as retailers clear out inventory for the newer Super cards. Although pricing for the new cards has not been confirmed, the RTX 40 Super series is expected to launch with slightly higher or similar pricing to the base RTX 40 series cards.
The new RTX 40 Super series cards may be an enticing option for those who missed out on purchasing a high-end card at MSRP pricing due to the US government restrictions on RTX 4090 shipments from China. In addition, the new lineup could potentially offer competitive pricing with AMD’s product stack, including the flagship AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX.
